THE NANCY QUINN FUND

Over the years, A.R.T./New York has gained a reputation for its knowledge of and impact on the needs of more than 250 small and emerging not-for-profit

companies. Specifically designed to assist artist-driven companies with budgets under $100,000, the Nancy Quinn Fund provides work-shops, roundtables and one-on-one consultations on 20 different topics including: accounting, audience development, budgeting, marketing, press and pub-licity, proposal writing, and special events. These sessions (which are led by a team of nationally known consultants) give theatre administrators the training they need to sustain their organizations and fulfill their artistic missions. Last year alone, represen-tatives from 177 companies attended 139 roundtables or one-on-one consultations.

Rather than simply provide training, we also help companies execute some of the strategies they learn about in the workshops by providing cash grants. The grants are awarded on a competitive basis, and every applicant is provided with detailed feedback about the strengths and weak-nesses of their proposals so they can improve their grant-writing skills. This improvement has earned The Nancy Quinn Fund a strong reputation among those who provide first-time grants to small companies: such
